Bandulla Compares VAT Income Then & Now

In a press conference held in Colombo today Bandula Gunawardana said, that during Mahinda’s regime in 2014, VAT Income was 275 billion. After the Good Governance Government Assumed  office, the VAT income in 2015 was 225 billion.There was a drop of 50 billion in VAT income.

If the cigarette price is  increased  to Rs 20 per cigarette,  additional income  of 80 million could be collected. President says,  that there  are officers and organizations blocking increase in TAX on cigarette. Either he should name those officers and organizations or increase the price of cigarette by issuing Gazette notification, He threw  this challenge to the President.
