Four Police Officers Suspended

Four police officers attached to the Hambantota Police Station suspended regarding  the disappearance of a youth while in custody. Three Sergeants and one Constable have been suspended in connection with the incident.

 The decision comes just days after several police officers attached to the Hambantota police station were transferred in connection with  the same incident.  The youth is question had been arrested by police  in connection with the theft of 80 sacks of paddy from a storage facility in Bandagiriya.  However, he had disappeared while in custody some 9 days ago and is still reported missing.
