Dhanush’s Thodari: Six Reasons to Watch this Thrilling Train Romance

Thodari managed to create a lot of interest among the moviegoers as it kept them guessing over its release date. The film, which was initially expected to release in May, was in the news now and again with tentative release dates. It was also expected to clash with other big releases. But now, it set to hit the screens with no major rival at the box office.

Thodari is just a day away from its theatrical release and discussions for the film have already started. The film will also premiere in the US on Wednesday, which will give an idea for its makers about its box office fate back home.
Needless to say, fans of Dhanush are super excited about the film. But just in case you are not a fan of the actor, but appreciate a good movie, here we give you five reasons to not to miss the film in theatres.
Dhanush’s first release in 2016
Since his debut in 2002 with Thulluvadho Ilamai, Dhanush has come a long way. He has been perfecting the art of acting with every film.
His last two outings Maari and Thanga Magan did not live up to the expectations. And he seems to be ready to make up for his previous misfires with Thodari. Unlike most of his peers, he refuses to settle within the confines of his stardom and challenges an actor in him in every film.
We don’t know yet what will be our final reaction to Thodari after watching it. But what we can assure you is Dhanush is going to be impressreive and it is something we are looking forward to watching in the theatre.
Prabhu Solomon
Director Prabhu Solomon is known for making picturesque films showing the nature at its best beauty and road trips in his films will give you some serious travel goals. And there is no doubt that his locations and cinematography in Thodari are going to be a treat for sore eyes.
Besides being visually rich, like Mynaa and Kumki, his films are usually centred on a gripping love story. And Thodari is going to be no exception. The film deals with a blooming romance between characters of Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh amid a train hijack but what needs to be seen is will their love story end happily-ever-after or meet a tragic end like in all movies by Prabhu. And we can’t wait to know that.
Prabhu and Dhanush combo
It is a combination we strongly advise you not to miss. Two bright minds of the Indian film industry, Prabhu and Dhanush, have teamed up for the first time for Thodari.
Interestingly, Prabhu enjoys a distinguished reputation of being an established director who only works with new and struggling actors in the film industry. However, he has made an exception for Thoadri by casting A-lister Dhanush. He says Dhanush “fitted the bill” to play a pantry worker on the train. So it is, indeed, a primary reason why the film has been getting so much of attention.

Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh
At the heart of this thriller, there is a blooming romance between two innocent people, whose spirit remains intact as they sing and dance on top of the train (like seen in the trailers), even as terrorists and security forces seems to run amok inside the train.
The pair of Dhanush and Keerthy onscreen looks refreshingly new and is likely to deliver an interesting onscreen chemistry too. Besides, Keerthy must have worked really hard to match the caliber of Dhanush as an actor, who has over 15 years of experience under his belt. And this another reason for you to not miss this film.
Music by D Imman
D Imman is clearly Prabhu’s favorite music composer. Since 2010, the director has not worked with any other music director who is not Imman. And it is justified as their films, besides doing well at the box office, have also delivered super hit albums. Have you heard Thodari songs yet?
The train journey
The entire film unfolds on a train. It is touted to be India’s first movie to be completely shot on a train.
Thodari is inspired by real life experience by the director during his train journey in 1991 to Ghaziabad from Neyveli that lasted two days and one night. And who doesn’t like a train journey? The film also promises a heart-warming love story and an edge-of-the-seat action.
