Kanate Drone Camera Episode Under Probe
On 27th September 2016 Sunday Leader editor, Lasantha Wickrematunge’s body was exhumed on order given by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate. Lasantha Wickrematunge’s wife domiciled in Australia made a request to ASP Tissera not to permit Journalists to take photo of the event, as it would affect his children’s mind. Hence, Journalists were not allowed to have close access and photographing. However, a private TV / Radio station reported to have sent a drone fixed with camera to take photograph of excavation. Medias have reported widely that a drone appeared over the excavation location, took photographs and disappeared within a few minutes. ASP Tissera said that an investigation is being cried out to trace the drone, camera and the photos taken.
