Double Murder Assassin Given Death Sentence in Jaffna

A person aged 50-year-old resident of Nirweli has been sentenced to the death by Jaffna Magistrate’s court in connection with the  killing a married couple.

The suspect was arrested on December 2011 by the Kopai Police on charges of killing the couple.   The convicted man was also ordered to pay a compensation of Rs. 1 million to the victims’ family.

The  order was given yesterday (29) by the Jaffna High Court Judge N. Ilanchelian.
