JVP Poised to a large Scale Agitation Campaign.

The JVP is planning a massive agitation campaign aimed at opposing what it claims is the government’s hidden agenda of selling State enterprises.
JVP leader and MP Anura Dissanayake said, that they were harnessing the support of many civil society groups, employees of State enterprise considered at risk of being privatized, trade unions and activists to launch a large-scale agitation campaign.
The MP warned that among the State enterprises that were in danger of being given over to private sector control are the Colombo Port, BIA, Kalpitiya Lagoon, oil tanks in Hambantota and Trincomalee.
Further, he said the government was planning to sell these enterprises in a bid to raise revenue to tide over the current economic crisis situation.
