Parliamentarian D.E.W. Gunesekara the Chairman of the COPE committee stated that economists will review the evidence that has emerged from investigations carried out regarding the irregularities committed by Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran .
The investigations were commenced by the COPE upon instruction from the Parliament Speaker in light of motion presented by Members of Parliament urging the CB governor’s removal considering the irregularity over the issuing of bonds.
Twenty officers including CB governor Arjun Mahendran entangled in the scandal were questioned and the evidence gathered has been examined and will presented as a report within the following two weeks stated MP Gunesekara.
