Gota Denies Detailing Intelligence Officers To Follow Politicians

While addressing a gathering in Weligama to felicitate pre-school teachers Former Secretary of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday (6)  said that he never ordered intelligence officers to track  politicians.

 His instructions were always to follow terrorists who threatened  national security.

He claimed that the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna was unable attend the event because he is being questioned  as to why the Vice Chancellor was attending an event where he was present.

If national intelligence personnel follow him, it is a regretful situation, Gota  said. He said that he would gladly give his daily timetable so that they would not have to waste their  time and  effort in following him.
