PM Scheduled to Make a Decisive Announcement Next Week

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to make a decisive announcement next week, concerning the future measures to be undertaken by the government on the economic and political fronts, sources said.

Further , sources said among the issues that will be highlighted by the Prime Minister, during his statement, will be the upcoming ETCA agreement to be signed with India, the proposed new Constitution, the government’s policy framework on economy till 2020, the increase in per capita income, the elimination of corruption, fraud and other mass scale scams as well as filing legal action against those charged with such illegal acts etc.

The PM is also expected to focus his attention on the aim of the government to fulfil the promises made to the public at the last Presidential and General Elections, as well as the introduction of new reforms to sectors such as education and health.
