GSP Plus Will be Renegotiated in Brussels – PM

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were given Generalized System of Preferences ( GSP ) Plus around the same time but Sri Lanka gave it up.

The European Union citing Sri Lanka’s human rights violations suspended the GSP Plus tariff concession in February 2010.

Bangladesh kept it and gradually increased its export growth, said the Prime Minister while  speaking at the inauguration of the World Export Development Forum in Colombo yesterday.

 Further, he  said, that  he would be leaving for Brussels on Saturday , to re-negotiate the  GSP  Plus tariff concession.
