GMOA Commended President

Assistant Secretary of the GMOA,  Dr. Nalinda Herath  said  that  he was pleased to see the President making such a bold statement to protect the integrity of the said institutions rather than allowing them to be dictated by politicians and their masters.
The GMOA yesterday commended the stance taken by President Maithripala Sirisena to protect the high command of the Army, the top brass of the intelligence units and other patriotic officers from subtle efforts to discredit them politically and ruin their public image.
The GMOA said that the move made by the President to protect such officers, who ushered in a peaceful environment for all citizens to live sans any fear or threat to their lives from terrorists, has to be particularly commended and praiseworthy.
He stated that certain reports had also been published in the press of a probe being carried out concerning errors found in a book published by the GMOA alongside another probe that is allegedly being conducted based on secretly recorded voice tapes.
He also charged that a probe had also been initiated against the Head of the Ayurvedic Medical Council but averred that through none of such measures will they be able to scuttle the opposition of the GMOA towards the ECTA agreement.
