Civil Society Organizations Boycott President’s Meeting

President Sirisena has invited several civil society groups and artists for a discussion this afternoon.

Several civil society groups including Purawesi Balaya organisation and National Movement for a Just Society, which worked hard  to form the  Good Governance Government have decided to boycott a meeting scheduled to be held with President Maithripala Sirisena today.

However senior journalist and representative of the Buravasi Balaya organisation KW Janaranjana attributed the decision to boycott the meeting, following invitations to several parties who were not part of the formation of the good governance government.

He said they cannot hold discussions with parties who oppose the good governance force.
