Disgrace to Our Dignity – Bandula Gunawardena

Bandula Gunawardena of the Joint Opposition raised a special privilege question in Parliament today. Police Special Investigation Unit Officers had raided Mathugama denister garden belongs to Kumara Welgama searching for two bullet proof vehicles of the Presidential Secretariat. They have raided the garden with a Court warrant. Raiding officers have failed to inform Kumara Welgama as to what they were looking for. The raid was seen by people as if they were looking for criminals.

 Bandula said, that it is the duty of the Speaker to protect rights of the members of Parliament.
