VAT Amendment Bill Passed in Parliament With 53 Majority Votes
The Value Added Tax Amendment Bill was passed in Parliament today( 26) with a majority of 53 votes.
It was put to the vote after the Joint Opposition called for a division by name.
Accordingly, it was passed with 112 votes for and 46 against during the second reading; 65 MPs were absent. However, a division was called again during the third reading. At that time 76 voted in favour and 23 against.
