Open Verdict on Mysterious Death of Youth at Wimal’s Resident.

When the body of the  youth died  in Wimal’s resident   was brought to the Jayawardanapura hospital mortuary, the inquirer into sudden death of the hospital P.T. Galagedara had observed blood oozing from the nostrils of the deceased and discharge of phlegm from the mouth of the deceased.

He had also observed a bruise on his neck and therefore reported the circumstances surrounding the death was suspicious. This fact was brought up in the Kaduwela Magistrate Court , after which Kaduwela Magistrate and Additional District Judge Dhammika Hemapala had visited the house of Wimal Weerawansa  and  done a check on the scene of the crime. They directed the Talangama police to produced the body before Colombo South JMO Dr. Prasanna Dasanayake and obtained a report which should be presented to the court.

The JMO of the Colombo South Kalubowila teaching hospital Dr. Prasanna Dasanayake conducted the post mortem  into the death of Lahiru Janath   Dissanayake aged (24),  delivered and open verdict.

He informed that they would be sending the body samples of the deceased to the Government analyst for a further examination.
