You’re Not Going to Trump Them with That Costume in the Impeccable Fancy Dress
The country’s top celebrities have gone all-out for Jonathan Ross’ annual Halloween party – heading to the bash at his North London home in an array of weird and wonderful costumes.
With the Addams Family, the Grim Reaper and a zombie Tinkerbell arriving on Monday night, it was instead David Walliams who stole the spotlight – as Presidential candidate Donald Trump.
One of the more common costumes this year, the comedian was quick to jump on the bandwagon by covering himself in orange fake tan and a lurid blonde wig, to imitate the politician’s famed hairdo.

Committing himself to the cause, the Britain’s Got Talent judge even added padding to his middle to imitate the businessman’s physique and a gleaming set of fake veneers.
Complete with a dummy surgeon strapped to his back as well as a set of prosthetic legs cleverly attached to his front, it became hard to tell the real and fake elements of the outfit apart.
A night of success for comedians it seems, Simon Pegg then joined the fray in a Beetlejuice costume so elaborate it was almost impossible to distinguish his real identity beneath the make-up.
The Run, Fat Boy, Run star caked his body in bright white face paint and wounds oozing gruesome green juice, before adding a skull cap to his head dressed with wild and wispy hair on top and a set of spooky red contact lenses.
Stephen Merchant looked worlds away from his self-professed awkward self in a wild black curly wig, biker jacket and a cigarette hanging nonchalantly out of his mouth – imitating idolised Guns N’ Roses rocker Slash.
The Office co-creator added to the grungy look with the guitarist’s trademark black hat and even went so far as to sling a guitar across his shoulder – perhaps to copy the artist’s talents too as the raucous party got into full swing.
Meanwhile singer Lily Allen impressed with impeccable face paint styled into the design of a Day of the Dead skull – disguising her eyes with thick black cosmetics and a set of disconcerting white contacts.
She also added a wiry blue and pink wig topped with a delicate flower crown, which felt eerily out of place amidst the rest of her terrifying get-up.
Looking particularly convincing was Frank Skinner – who perfectly embodied the character of Frankenstein with several layers of thick green make-up and effective silver bolts protruding from his neck.
Adding a gruesome deep gash to his forehead, the popular comedian even adopted the stance of the man-made monster as he headed into the party to pack even more of a punch.
Dara O’Briain looked totally convincing as the Grim Reaper, clad in a grey hooded cape and skeletal-styled gloves as he carried an ominous plastic, but convincingly threatening, scythe.
Not stopping there, the Mock the Week host too invested in theatrical cosmetics to depict the famous face of death in striking black and white face make-up – sending a chill down the spine when his frown emerged from beneath the hood.
Dermot O’Leary showed his playful side by dressing as famed Ben Stiller character Derek Zoolander, while his wife Dee Koppang covered her face with chic sunglasses and a blonde bob wig to convey famous Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
Other guests included Aisling Bea who appeared to have been burned on one side in her costume, and Claudia Schiffer who showed off her famous model physique in a skin-tight multi-coloured bodysuit.
Opting for a somewhat glitzier outfit than Lily’s spooky version of the costume was Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt – who formed her Day of the Dead character from candy-coloured crystals and gems stuck to her body and face.
Painting her lips into the silhouette of a skull, the scary touch was offset by her fiesta-style ruffled dress of bright red and green, with the skeleton she was impersonating emblazoned on the front.
Unrecognisable! Derren Brown looked terrifying in his gruesome facial make-up, while other guests headed as characters from Mad Max: Fury Road and another as a headless superman
Day of the stunner: Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt was undoubtedly overjoyed to receive an invite to the legendary annual bash, arriving with boyfriend Luke Crodden dressed as a Day of the Dead sugar skull
Holly Willoughby rocked a similar combination of frightening and feminine in her zombie fairy outfit, which she aptly named ‘Tinkerhell’ – alongside her dead Captain Hook of a husband Dan Baldwin.
The This Morning host made her version of the famed Disney character far more alarming than the original by painting a fresh slit throat onto her neck with fake blood, while her husband sported similar wounds and carried a false hook on his hand.
Leigh Francis and his wife Jill Carter opted for heavier use of prosthetics over make-up as they disguised themselves as Gozer from Ghostbusters and Ari from Planet of the Apes, while British actress Sarah Alexander and husband Peter Serafinowicz kept things classic as Gomez and Morticia Addams.
Knocking the couple’s costumes out of the park were David Mitchell and Victoria Coren Mitchell, who clad themselves as humble pumpkins for the event for a pop of colour and fun.
Joe Swash cut a spooky figure as a modern-day vampire, while his new partner Stacey Solomon added some glamour to the bash as a glittering mermaid, complete with shimmering pink tail and body glitter.
Other standout outfits at the event included Princess Fiona from Shrek, who went full force with the look in a skin-tight green body suit and horned headband, and a character from the Japanese film Spirited Away.
The funny guys: Comedian David Mitchell dressed himself in the frumpy orange suit for a funny effect while Victoria sported a more flattering orange skirt with green waistband
Creepy: Sanjeev Bhaskar and Meera Syal opted for spooky black ensembles as their family member sported a deceptive mask, while Katherine Ryan and Joe Lycett dressed as a unicorn and Hilary Clinton
Vivid imaginations: One guest dressed in a cloak as a character from Japanese flick Spirited Away, another clad herself as Princess Fiona from Shrek while comedian David Baddiel covered himself in a wild black wig
Jonathan Ross has not held back on decorations for his annual party – but he is just one of many Brits who have pulled out all the spooky stops in a bid to make their house the most haunted.
Builders were seen at the chat show host’s north London home today ahead of the once-a-year event.while the workmen were stood on ladders, suggesting the decoration is going to be spectacular.
Fake corpses covered in blood were seen piled up outside the 55-year-old’s property, with guests last year including Jimmy Carr, David Walliams and Claudia Schiffer.

Meanwhile Halloween-mad Welshman Martin Faulkner has spent more than £1,000 kitting out his own house of horror.
The 46-year-old started decking out his home with skulls, ouija boards, and gravestones to scare the kids when they came trick or treating.
But, instead, youngsters were attracted to the house and last year he gave out 140 bags of sweets to children who came knocking.
The dad-of-two said: ‘They ran out and we had to go down to the shop and get some more.
It takes about a week to put up all the decorations but the property has now become an annual tourist attraction.
Mr Faulker, who works for engineering firm Keltbray, added: ‘It’s good watching cars pull up in the street and people jumping out to take photos.
‘But we are looking at making it the final year now – it’s getting to the point where I’m losing motivation to put it up.’
‘I knocked up the bodies in the garage, I made them myself,’ Martin said.
‘They get fatter every year as I get more and more costumes for them.’

There is still hope Martin’s garden from hell will continue.
He said: ‘There are people saying it can’t stop and they are going to start a petition.
‘People are still seeing it for the first time.’
Interest in the house, in Porth, Rhondda Cynon Taf, shows no sign of letting up.
‘Someone asked me if I knew where the house was and showed me a picture of where I lived,’ Martin said.
Martin and his wife, Linda, may be doing their haunted house for the last time
‘Over the years it has cost me about £1,000.’
He even built in the garage what he dubbed a ‘maze’.
‘I bought CCTV so one year we were broadcasting kids going into the maze in the garage back to the TV in the house,’ Martin said.
‘I say it’s a maze, there is only one way in and one way out.
‘One year we had four police officers turn up and they wanted to go around the maze.
‘But the two women turned around and had to come out again because they felt claustrophobic.’
Elsewhere in the country, 65-year-old Jean Brady has filled her garden with gravestones, skeletons and two-headed dolls in a bid to get kids into the scary spirit.
Ms Brady, from Liverpool, has been putting on similar displays for almost a decade and said her neighbours love the annual creepy showcase.
The pensioner said: ‘I started with decorations inside and I just thought that other people may as well have the pleasure of seeing it so I started putting it all outside.’
Another of the freaky properties is owned by Martin Lee, 55, who lives in Manchester.
The nursery worker first threw his doors open to the public in October three years ago and thousands of guests have since been spooked by his house of horrors.
Mr Lee begins ordering the props from America in April, before spending six weeks decorating the home.
