Court of Appeal Considered CSN Writ Petition Against Cancelling of its License

The Court of Appeal today considered the petition filed by the Carlton Sports Network (CSN) Chairman,  Rohan Welivita against the cancellation  of its terrestrial broadcasting license by the Secretary to the Media Ministry  and issued notice to the respondents including the Secretary to the Media Ministry to appear before court on November 16.
Rohan Welivita in his  writ petition stated  that the license was cancelled arbitrarily with no inquiry at all. Furthermore, the legal provisions do not allow the Media Secretary to cancel the license.
