Five Policemen Will be Produced Before Court Today Over 2 Jaffna Uni. Students Death

On the 20th of October, the Police Headquarters announced that the two Jaffna University students succumbed to injuries after meeting with an accident. Police reported that the two students who were on a motorbike travelling from Jaffna to Chunnakam veered off the road and rammed into a wall.
However the post-mortem examinations conducted later revealed the two youth were shot and killed. The Criminal Investigations Department subsequently commenced investigations in connection with  the incident.
Followed by the investigation,  five policemen  were arrested on suspicion in connection with  the death of  two  Jaffna University students.  They   will be produced before Jaffna Magistrate’s  court today (4).
The suspects are   a Deputy Inspector, a sergeant and three constables attached to  Chunnakam police.
