Weather Forecast For 6th November 2016

The depression in the Central Bay of Bengal now located about 1500 km to the Northeast of Sri Lanka and it is likely to weaken. Hence, prevailing showery weather in the Southwestern part is expected to reduce to some extent from tomorrow.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Southern, Central, Western, North-western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Mannar district.

Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly, after 2.00 p.m.

Fairly heavy falls (about 75-100 mm) can be expected at some places.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the morning.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
