On the 17th of September a sub inspector and two men entered the shop of an Indian in Pettah in the disguise of Immigration and Emigration officers under the pretext of checking Indian’s visa. They have stolen Rs. 35 million worth of gold jewelry from the shop. On complaint received, police carried out investigations . Following a tip-off that they were hiding in a house in Galenbidunuwewa, police raided the house and arrested the police sub-inspector and another person connected with the theft yesterday.
