Northern PC Opposition Leader Thavarajah Removed?

EPDP leader Douglas Devananda has written to the UPFA General Secretary to remove Thavarajah from the post of opposition leader in the Northern Provincial Council and replace him with Kilinochchi EPDP Provincial Councillor, Y.Thavanathan.

Douglas justifying the removal said, that is was a pre arrangement made by the party regarding the period a PC Councillor can hold the post of opposition in the NPC.

However, Thavarajah was ignorance of this arrangement and said, that neither this matter was discussed with him nor informed to him by the party leader. He admitted having difference of views on matters between him and leadership. These are normal in a democratic setup, he concluded.
