Four suspects have been arrested in Mount Lavinia for the possession of 2 kilograms of heroin.
Acting Police Media Director Deputy Inspector General of Police Priyantha Jayakody said, that a Pakistani and three Maldivians were arrested. The suspects are part of an international drug racket.
The four are suspected to be involved in a drug smuggling operation between Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
The DIG said the arrested Pakistani was apprehended by police on a previous occasion on charges of violating his visa regulations. The Pakistani is an international drug racketeer.
