Ankumbura, Kandy Shooting Second Suspect Arrested

 Two  individuals were shot  yesterday  morning by a group of individuals while they were staying  in Ankumbura.

One individual succumbed to injuries upon admission to the Kandy General Hospital while the other is continuing to receive treatment in ICU .

Six police teams led by the Senior DIG of the Central Province have launched special investigations into the shooting. Followed by  this,   one  suspect in possession  with a T56 firearm  was arrested  yesterday. A 23 year old  resident of Ranala,  second suspect has also been arrested.

He  will be produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s Court today.

The Police Headquarters said a vehicle in which the suspects travelled yesterday has been seized.
