Minister of City Planning & Water Supply Rauf Hakeem said, that water tariffs are normally revised once in three years. Now more than four years water tariffs was not revised. Further, in order to provide water to 55% of the population, who are not enjoying tap water, water tariffs are revised.
On the other hand Minister Rishad Bathiudeen reported to have said, that the revision on water tariffs was due to employing new recruits on political grounds and pay bonus to staff.
