Rajinikanth’s 2.0 first Look Launch: Akshay Kumar is the Hero and not me, says Rajini

Rajinikanth was modesty personified at the first look launch of 2.0. The southern cine legend who is perhaps the biggest name in the Indian film industry today humbly called Akshay Kumar the hero of the mega film.
Praising Akshay for delivering a brilliant performance in the film, Rajini said, “The truth is Akshay is the hero of the film. Given a chance, I would have taken up the role. He has worked very hard in the film. It’s a brilliant character, a great role, and the whole country will applaud Akshay.”
Rajini sounded quite confident about 2.0 and also went ahead to call it a path-breaking venture that will be at par with Hollywood standards. “This picture in 3D will be a different experience. Despite our technical and financial strengths, we couldn’t reach Hollywood standards. But this film will.”
Talking about director Shankar who has helmed the extravaganza, Rajini said, “Shankar is a different director to work with, which makes it difficult. But I enjoyed the subject as it is unique.”
AR Rahman who has scored music for the film termed it as his toughest ever. “This is the toughest film I am doing. Shankar is not happy with anything I am doing. I am trying to create something unique for India and the world.”
Rajinikanth had landed in Mumbai specially to unveil the first look of his film. Dressed in a simple black kurta, Rajini was the cynosure of all eyes as many doyens from B-town trooped in to meet and greet the legend. But the man who stole the limelight was Salman Khan who ‘gatecrashed’ the event only to meet Rajini.
