No Interference in FCID – Ranil

Parliamentarian Keheliya Rambukwella alleged that   Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, leads  a committee  appointed to examine complaints  received and refer to FCID .  This committee was appointed through Gazette notification.
Ranil is alleged to have  selected  cases of his choice to  refer to FCID, thereby  interfering with the operation with the FCID.
In response,  Premier Wickremesinghe said all complaints have been directed to the Police FCID and  the committee does gather even once a year adding that the complaints received that day were handed over to the Police.
He  said some new complaints were also lodged afterwards at the FCID, CID and the commission, saying in addition to this the complaints which go to the office which runs separately has also informed the government that they forward the complaints to the Police. The committee has not met  for a long time  and  he has not given any advice to the FCID  on this matter.
