Srilanka Press is a Stinking Debris – President

While participating in a awarding ceremony held in Waters Edge hotel in Battaramulla yesterday, President Maithreepala Sirisena said,  that newspapers do not published news important to people and government officers on their front page. But they publish all destructive news on front page.

Srilankan press media is more concentrating on politics than in any other country in the world. Press is a powerful organ which can help to build up the country. But front pages of newspapers mostly publish sexual abuses, robberies, murders and political conflicts.  Srilanka press need to concentrate in publishing constructive news beneficial to the country, he concluded.
