No Change in UN Stunt Regarding War Related Investigations in Srilanka

Although the Government of Srilanka continues to State that there is no pressure exerted in respect of war related accountability issue in the UN, Spokesman for UN Secretary General Farhan Haq said, that there is no change in UN of stunt in regard to war related investigations.  As the period of office of the current UN Secretary General expires next year, policy on Srilanka may change observers say. UN’s group against torture reported that even after the change of Government, white van abduction continues. Government should have given priority to investigate these abductions, he concluded.
