Pillayan Filed Fundamental Rights at the Supreme Court

Former Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias ‘Pillayan’  was arrested   in connection with the murder of Former Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarian Joseph Pararajasingham,who was killed  on the 25th of December 2005. Colombo Crime Division made this arrest  on  11th of October 2015 and on producing  him in the Batticaloa  Magistrate Court  he was remanded.  There after his remand was renewed.
Now Pillayan  has  has  filed a fundamental rights petition at the Supreme Court,  claiming his detention for a period of one year without appropriate charges is a violation of his Fundamental Rights.
