IGP Before Parliament Today

IGP Pujith Jayasundara is to be questioned on the recent incident where he answered a telephone in public view, and commented about not arresting an individual.

The IGP answered the caller as “sir”. There are only a few individuals who can issue an order to the IGP. They include the President, the Prime Minister and the Law and Order Minister.

Relevant video clipping was telecast and went  viral  in social  media. Even the President has seen the  telecast  and said, that it was wrong to act  in such a  manner in public. Parliamentarians  including PM  wanted  to get a clarification  on the incident  have requested  the speaker  to summoned him before the Parliament.  He  has been summoned before the Parliament today.
