Death Threats to Jayampathy

United National Front Parliamentarian Jayampathy Wickramaratne has lodged a complaint  with the Welikada Police  after receiving death threats via hi mobile phone.

He  has drawn  the attention  of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament to look  into the incident.

He said, that he was   threatened over his involvement in the process to enact a new Constitution. The caller told him that  his family will be killed.

In response, Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala said,  the matter will be forwarded to the Parliamentary Committee on Privileges.

Further he  said the Inspector General of Police will also be notified of the issue.
