Cabinet Approved National Policy to Eliminate Child Labour

Sri Lanka agreed to eliminate child labour at Global Child Labour Conference at the Hague, in 2010.   Followed by this, there has been a 50% decrease in use of child labour indicating the ability to eradicate it completely.
The proposal by Labour and Trade Minister John Seneviratne has submitted a cabinet paper   to adopt and implement a national policy to eliminate child labour in Sri Lanka, which  was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers yesterday.
