SL’s Free Trade Agreement with Malaysia
The Government of Malaysia invited Sri Lankan President to visit to Malaysia.
The Srilanka delegation led by President Maithripala Sirisena is in Malaysia for a three day official visit.
Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera , who accompanied President addressed Malaysian business forum yesterday. In his address he said , that democracy has made headway in Sri Lanka after 2015 January. Democratic reforms would be entrenched in the new constitution. Further he said, that reconciliation is imperative and therefore Sri Lanka co-sponsored a resolution at the UNHRC. The country is also in the process of devising transition of the justice mechanism, Samaraweera said.
He emphasized that Sri Lanka was keen on entering into a free trade agreement with Malaysia.
