Conspiracy to Kill President? – Media Ministry Secretary
Astrologer Rohana Vijayamuni has been keep on telling Media that President will lose his life on 26th January 2017. This view has been disseminated in social Medias very fast. This cannot be an astrological prediction. But there must be a big conspiracy behind this to make it happen. This prediction was made by the astrologer 5 month back and I have received several complaints regarding this. Thereafter, I analyzed this news item with a video and found this issue has gone beyond the control of the industry I am in. Hence, I brought this matter to the notice of the CID. But it appears that CID has not taken this issue seriously. In the meantime, this Astrologer has involved in socializing this issue again. He has quoted the death of Indra Gandhi, Bandaranayke and Premadasa caused by change of Saturn. According to the chart Saturn change on 26th January 2017 is detrimental to Maithree. What he says may be an Astrological prediction according to charts. But the innocent people will believe it as he has predicted deaths of previous leaders correctly. This is the first time a prediction has been made about the life of the Head of the Sate of Srilanka. He is trying to misuse the freedom of expression given to the people. I have informed the IGP to inquire into the possibility of conspiracy behind this. When questioned by the journalist whether he has informed president about this he said no. Ministry of Media Secretary has called for a special press conference and announced it yesterday.
