Ex-LTTE cadre gets 10 years RI for MS assassination attempt

 

LTTE cadre who attempted to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena in 2005-2006 has been sentenced to 10 year by Polonnaruwa High Court, judicial sources states.

The Ex-LTTE operative who was involved in an assassination attempt on President Maithripala Sirisena, when he was the Minister of Mahaweli Development in 2006, has been sentenced to 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI).

Sivaraja Jenivan alias Mohommadu Sulthan Cader Mohideen aka Senan, who was charged with setting up a claymore mine in an attempt to assassinate Sirisena, was also fined Rs 10,000 by the Court.
