“People Don’t want MR as PM” – JVP

 

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) yesterday asserted that the defeat of Ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa at last January’s election was sufficient evidence that they did not want him back as Prime Minister.

JVP Parliamentarian Sunil Handunnetti alleged that former President Rajapaksa and his backers were greedy to regain power once again.

“Rajapaksa was defeated because of his dictatorial behaviour. Again he wants to be like that and he is dreaming of becoming the Prime Minister. We believe that people do not want him in that position; neither as the president nor prime minister,” Handunnetti charged.
