Unity Government or Division Decision by SLFP in September 2017

The SLFP Media Spokesmen Dilan Perera said, the unity government is 15 months old now and the SLFP central committee is expected to review the performance of the government in September 2017.  Thereafter, it will decide whether to remain further in the unity government or leave it. Further he said, a lot of water had passed under the bridge since the formation of the UNP – SLFP unity government since the general election held in August 2015. Followed by it plenty of consensus, disagreements debates, brick bats and acrimony were seen. Despite these factors the SLFP members within the government had been able to a record a number of victories and direct the unity government on the right path. The term of office of the unity government is scheduled to expire in September 2017. Thereafter the SLFP central committee will review whether to continue in the unity government or leave it in September 2017, he concluded.
