Removal of Johnston’s Son From NWPC Chief Govt. Whip post

The North Western Provincial Council cabinet has yesterday decided to  remove  Councilor and Chief Government Whip of the North Western Provincial Council Johann Fernando, son of former minister Johnston Fernando from Govt. Whip post , as he has  failed to attend the 2017 budget debate and  had not been present for all four days of the budget.

Councilor Bandara Rajapaksa was appointed as the new Chief government whip.

North Western Province Chief Minister Dharmasiri Dassanayake said President Maitripala Sirisena had been informed of the decision.
