Firm Stand Taken By President to Punish CB Bond Racketeers

In an interview  given to a press  yesterday (1) , the President  Maithripala Sirisena  has reiterated  his firm stand  to punish  Central Bank Bond scam  racketeers irrespective of their rank and file .   When questioned about  the appointment of a commission to inquire in to the bond scam,   he said the procedure  is  that once the Parliament pass the report ,  the Speaker has to refer it to the  Attorney General  for legal action.  Depending  on action proposed  by the Attorney General, appointment of  a Commission  will be discussed  and decided , he concluded.
