Members of Parliament Kavinda Jayawardena and Chaminda Wijesiri had complained against the Land Commissioner R.P.R Rajapakshe to the effect, that he had not performed his duty properly. The PM Ranil Wickramasinghe in turn has advised Law and order Minister Sagala Ratnayake to take follow up action in this connection. Followed by this, Land Commissioner R.P.R. Rajapakshe was compelled to resign from his post due to pressure exerted by Law and order Minister, Sagala Ratnayake.

But, President Maithreepala has appointed R.P.R. Rajapakshe as Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Land and Parliamentary affairs. He assumed duty as Additional Secretary from today.
