285 Prison Inmates Received a Special Pardon Today

285 prison inmates have received a special pardon today, in lieu of the 2nd anniversary of President

Maithripala Sirisena’s swearing in as the Head of State being celebrated today (8).

Prisons Media Spokesman Thushara Upuldeniya informed,  that those who received the special pardon today were inmates who had been serving sentences for minor offences. The inmates who were released were selected from prisons all across the island.
