Hambantota Protest : Three More Arrested

A protest against alleged privatization of the Hambantota port was held on January 7 coinciding with the foundation stone laying ceremony for a new industrial zone in Mirijjawila, Hambantota.

Three more suspects  were arrested in connection  with the recent protest in Hambantota. Two were arrested in Ambalantota and another in Weeraketiya. Police has used video footage of the protest to arrest these individuals.

They will be produced before the Magistrate’s Court today(16).
