CAA Detects Dyed Rice Racket

Followed by ,  several  complaints  received  from public,  the Consumer Affairs Authority has conducted quiet a number of raids in the districts of Polonnaruwa and Batticaloa.
Accordingly, 50,000 kilograms of dyed rice had been discovered in seven rice mills in the districts of Polonnaruwa and Batticaloa. Samples of the rice were sent to the government analyst for testing.
Steps have been taken  to bust a racket wherein dyed rice is being supplied to the market.
The CAA noted that raids will continue in order to apprehend the suspects.
