Missing Person’s Relatives Launched a Fast unto Death Campaign
Parents and relatives of people missing after arrest, after surrender and disappeared launched a fast unto death campaign in Vavuniya from 9.30am on Monday(23). They demand from the state the following

If the Missing persons are living, publicly announce where they are detained?

If died, declare the circumstances under which they died. Cause of death. Who caused their death? Where they were buried?

To release political prisoners from detention/ prison.
Vavuniya Acting Police Officer In Charge has visited the venue and ordered to remove the temporary structure put up or to obtain approval from the Secretary to the town council. TNA Vanni MP Sivashakthi Anandan and NPC member S. Mayuran discussed this matter with the police and undertaken to ensure peaceful fasting without causing any problem to public transport or public. Town Council Secretary too came there and discussed with the police. Everything ended well and the fast unto death continues.
