The Bogala Graphite Mine has been temporarily closed after an individual (aged 42) died after he was buried under a mound of earth.
The Police Media Unit said two other miners sustained injuries and have been admitted to the Karawanella Hospital for treatment.
Further investigation carried out by Pindeniya Police.
