University Staff Poised to Token Strike Tomorrow
The Inter University Trade Union Joint Committee (IUTUJC) is scheduled to resort to a token strike from Tomorrow (7). A strike demonstration will be held by the university non-academic staff in front of the University Grants Commission tomorrow afternoon. The strike is believed to be caused due to the lack of initiative taken by the commission to issue a circular to increase the staff’s monthly allowance.
Further steps to be taken in connection with the issue will be discussed during a combined union meeting on 12th February 2017.
