Referendum For New Constitution

Earlier Leader of the House Minister Lakshman Kiriella said the government hopes to hold a public referendum with regard to the formulation of a new Constitution with the support of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

The Tamil National Alliance says it supports the proposal  by the  government to hold a public referendum  in respect of a new Constitution.

TNA Parliamentarian MA Sumanthiran said,  the  new Constitution should have the  mandate  of  the people.
