No Intention to Delay LG Election- Wasantha

State Minister of Irrigation Wasantha Senanayake says the government has no intention of delaying the LG election.

Senanayake speaking at a gathering in Polonnaruwa said those hurling allegations at the government have no footing at the upcoming local government election.

The delay in conducting the election was due  to discussions being held with all political parties pertaining to the preparation of a new electoral system.

He  added the government hopes to claim victory at the Local Government election that will be held this year.
