GMOA Demands Gazetting the Minimum Standards for Medical Education.

Addressing a media conference held in Colombo yesterday, GMOA Secretary Dr. Navinda Soyza said, that setting up of state, private or semi governmental medical colleges is the duty of a government.

GMOA  wants  to ensure such institutions produce quality medical practitioners. GMOA Assistant Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge  blamed  the current health minister Rajitha Senarathna disturbed the efforts to introduce standards in medical education.

The GMOA threatened to take tough trade union action unless the minister in charge immediately gazettes the minimum standards for medical education.
