Stop Forthwith Selling of Tickets Using Students

Ceylon Teachers Union  General Secretary ,  Joseph Stalin  issued a statement to the press .  The press release reads thus: ‘’ Under the name of ‘’Education  Development Funds’’  of North Central Province Education Ministry  North Central Province school students are being engaged in selling  tickets to the public in the recent past.  For this purpose North Central Provincial Ministry  has printed  10 lakhs of tickets.  Each ticket is priced at Rs 20 .  On the basis of a ticket book containing 5 tickets,  254,000  students  were issued to them to sell it to  public.  Engaging students  under the name of ‘’Education  Development Funds’’ is condemned  by the Ceylon Teachers Union’’.

It is relevant to mentioned that the President Maithripala Sirisena has blamed education authorities for returning allocated funds to the treasury without utilizing it.
